That’s not how progression works here.
We don't place people into rigid boxes - we shape roles around individual strengths and potential, especially when it helps move the business forward.
As we’ve grown to support over 1,300 clients and manage more than £1.4bn in assets, our roles have evolved too. We've seen paraplanners move into investment research because they were energised by markets and analysis. Others discovered a passion for improving processes and stepped into transformation roles. Some discover a love of coaching, leadership, or developing others.

Why Now? A Business Growing With Purpose
Our recent partnership with Sovereign marks a significant milestone. They were drawn to Equilibrium’s strong brand, high quality advice, and our ability to support a wide range of clients in a sustainable, low-risk way.
Importantly, this isn’t about rapid, impersonal growth. The plan is to acquire high quality, local firms, starting in the Northwest, and integrate them carefully into the Equilibrium brand. Quality, culture, and client outcomes come first, always.
As our founder, Colin Lawson, puts it:
